Edward the Blue Engine
Product Overview
Edward is one of the three original tank engines featured in Rev. Awdry's stories alongside Henry and Gordon. Edward who wears the no. 2 on his blue coat is a four wheeled, small and old–fashioned, mixed traffic engine. He helped build the North Western Railway but was rested in a shed soon after that. Edward was considered too weak and incompetent to work by other engines. However, when he was eventually let out he proved that not only was he capable and hard working, he was a wise and clever engine too. The most important characteristic of Edward is his compassion and benevolence. Edward is friendly and has a sympathetic ear for all engines, big and small and for all trucks and coaches.
